A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM

This is a 4-semester program comprising 3 academic semesters and one semester-long industrial or academic internship.

It covers all aspects of ship design: structural calculations, propulsion, hydrodynamics, stability, maneuverability, ergonomics…

The students are also made aware of the issues surrounding the ship of the future: safer, cleaner, more sustainable, economical and intelligent.


This program is or can be taught in English. All students may take their exams in English

EXPERT CONTRIBUTORS

At ENSTA Bretagne, all courses are taught either by permanent academic staff members or by specialized engineers working in the industry: Bureau Veritas, Naval Group, Chantiers de l'Atlantique, Saipem-Sofresid, Acergy, Principia, SBM, Azur Offshore, GTT, Subsea7...

ENSTA Bretagne also offers the Master in Marine Engineering, Surface Ships and Submarines. With this international French-Australian program, students can earn a double degree.

Application procedure

  1. From October 21: Online pre-registration (deadline April 6)
  2. By April 6: All required documents must have been submitted together with the €30 application fee
  3. May: Admissions committee, a committee analyzes all applications. Admissions interviews may be held.
  4. May: Admission results, you will be informed by email before the summer 

Learning outcomes

Graduates of the Advanced Master are suited to major positions in naval architecture, project management, study, research, business engineering and shipyard supervision.

They use their skills in major groups, SMEs, naval architectural offices or research centers.

Objective:

Aims: this advanced master trains naval architects able to innovate and design ships and offshore platforms of all types, wich are more advanced and respectful of the environment.

Prerequisites

To apply for one of our Advanced Masters you must have:

  • a MSc degree
  • a BSc + several years of professional experience

For foreign students who are not native French speakers, the minimum level of French required is CEFR A2 (certificate required).
