ADMISSION CONDITIONS

Students can either enter directly the Masters course if they have already obtained a Bachelor of science and have military and maritime basic knowledge, or follow a first year at the French naval academy composed of various core courses before being allowed into the Masters course. All the candidates will have to take an exam in Maths, Physics, French and English, which will be organised by the local French Defence Attaché, to verify their knowledge and assess their ability to succeed. Most of the costs are taken into account by France in the name of naval cooperation. Remaining tuition per year, to be paid by cadets’ country, is 14000 €.
Scholarships and tuition discounts may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

ACADEMIC TRAINING

“Officer – Seaman – Engineer”: three-in-one training
The academic program aims to provide students with skills acquired through :
- humanities and leadership classes which are necessary qualities for future military leaders, as well as a good knowledge of general and maritime English ; - maritime training with a blended approach of theory and practical training at sea on school ships as well as sailboats ; - scientific training based on lectures, pairwork and group projects.
Professional autonomy is a key word in our training of midshipmen. Our pedagogy is adapted to encourage students to take on their responsibilities through situational exercises and projects. The Masters students follow the same maritime training and humanities classes as the engineering students, to encourage mutual exchanges on a graduate level, whereas the specialized scientific curriculum is specific to their diploma.
