The COST Action Rethinking the Blue Economy: Socio-Ecological Impacts and Opportunities (RethinkBlue) is pleased to announce a Training School on Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA), organized by the University of the Aegean, to be held in Santorini, Fira, Greece from April 2 to April 5, 2025. This Training School will offer a unique opportunity to explore t methodology of Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) and its advanced form, Sustainable Development Impact Assessment with Territorial Approach (SDIATA), within the context of Blue Economy strategies.

Objective

Participants will:

  • Develop competencies in applying impact assessment methods.
  • Analyze Blue Economy strategies, focusing on maritime transport and maritime tourism.
  • Explore participatory governance processes and sustainable policy adoption for coastal and island regions.

Application procedure

This call is open to: 

  • Early Career Researchers (ECRs), PhD candidates, and postgraduate students.
  • Researchers with an interest in social cohesion, sustainable development, and the Blue Economy.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) Highlight relevant experience and expertise
  • Optional Documents A letter of support from your supervisor or institution

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance to the Training School’s goals.
  • Potential contribution to the Action’s objectives.
  • Demonstrated interest in related topics.

Grant opportunities

Selected participants may receive funding to cover travel and daily allowance to cover e.g. accommodation, local travel, and subsistence, as per COST guidelines.
