Maritime on the Loop of Ocean Literacy (MOL2)

Language

English

MOL2 aimed to engage educational and training centres with cross-curricular skills related to Shipbuilding and Marine Technologies. MOL2 took place in two localities – 1. Spain and 2. Italy. Both focused on promoting ocean literacy linked with the maritime sector in Europe and adapted to the involved regions.

The purpose of the MOL2 (Maritime on the Loop of Ocean Literacy) Pilot Experience was to improve young peoples’ Ocean Literacy by increasing their understanding and awareness of the marine environment and related industries. The initiative promoted youth involvement in marine protection by making them reflect on the best ways to reduce their environmental impact in the ocean and by providing tools to help them to make informed and responsible decisions regarding the ocean and its resources.
The main objective of MOL2 was therefore to develop educational and training methods focused on real industry-relevant skills, which would be suitable for younger audiences.
