The GWO – Basic Safety Training Offshore (BST) is intended for anyone who will work in the offshore wind industry. The training consists of a combination of theoretical education and practical training. To participate, you must be sufficiently fit and in possession of a Winda ID.
This GWO – Basic Safety Training (BST) course enables you to work safely in a wind turbine environment and support others when necessary. You build knowledge and skills in First Aid, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness and Sea Survival. You will also learn to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate first aid to victims in the event of an emergency.
Prerequisites
The practical components are physically demanding. You must be sufficiently fit to complete all practical components. Due to the use of personal protective equipment, your body weight may not exceed 120 kilograms.
If you use medicines, you must report this in advance. If it turns out that the use of the medicine causes a limitation, the booking will be canceled free of charge.
You must be in possession of a Winda ID.
Application procedure
Winda Registration:
All participants must register as a participant in Winda before the start of the course. Registration is required if you want to work in wind energy. After registration you will receive a Winda ID. The Winda ID must be stated when booking the course.
After certification, we will link your certificates to your Winda account.
Learning outcomes
The GWO – Basic Safety Training course consists of the following modules;
First Aid (BST FA) – 1 day
Working at Heights including Manual Handling (BST WAH-MH) – 2 dagen
Fire Awareness (BST FAW) – 0,5 dag
Sea Survival (BST SS) – 1 dag
Manual Handling (BST MH) separately – 0.5 days
