The Master in Sustainable Energy Systems consists of integrated training in the fields of energy technologies, environment and sustainable development. Training takes into account the multidisciplinarity and transversality of energy and environmental problems, their solutions and the economic and social dimensions of sustainable development.
Grant opportunities
For master's courses, the University of Aveiro awards an incentive grant that will reduce the course fee (which varies between €3.500 and €5.000) to €1.000 per year.
Learning outcomes
- Intervention in the area of management of energy resources, using renewable energies and efficient energy systems
- evaluate options for the conversion, distribution and use of energy in a rational and sustainable way
- intervention in the area of integrated environmental management, either through environmental management systems or through the application of integrated pollution prevention and control tools, such as cleaner production technologies, life cycle analysis and eco-efficiency
- advanced knowledge of monitoring methods and instrumentation used in the fields of energy and environment
- aptitude to use, in an independent way, principles, concepts, and instruments of analysis, techniques and legal matter, that allow to find the most adequate solution for solving energy and environmental problems in broad and multidisciplinary contexts
- capabilities with a view to identifying, preventing or minimizing risk situations, quantifying and solving specific energy and environmental problems at the level of industrial operators or public operators, through technical solutions that are efficient from the economic, environmental and social points of view
- integrated vision of the energy and environmental sector with emphasis on the ability to analyze, design, plan, implement, manage, operate, control and communicate solutions applied to companies, organizations and the territory in line with the new paradigm of sustainable development encompassing its Economic, Social, Environmental, Technological and Energy aspects
