The degree in Environmental Sciences aims to train specialists in the areas of Environment and Health, Conservation of Natural Heritage, and Environmental Management and Sustainability. The course has a target audience associated with the public and private sector, namely: officials and technicians from central, regional and local administration; managers of residential, rural and ecological tourism units; managers in the area of biological products and the environment; employees and technicians of museums, nature conservation centers; tour guides linked to ecotourism projects; members of Non-Governmental Organizations for the Environment, Social Action, Local Development and others.

Prerequisites

Specific Access is intended for those who meet, cumulatively, one of the conditions referred to in point 1 and point 2:
1. Age

  • Be at least 21 years old on October 1st of the year in which the exam was taken
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 21, attaching a Social Security Declaration proving that you have paid at least two years of State benefits

2. Hold a Portuguese secondary education course or legally equivalent qualification recognized by a Portuguese school. If you live abroad, you must apply to the DGE.


Specific Access consists of taking a written test in person, depending on the intended course. Passing this test guarantees admission to the Open University and enables enrollment in the year of approval and in the two subsequent years.
