- Vessel ropework, anchoring and mooring
- Vessel construction and stability
- Basic navigational watchkeeping
- Maritime sector overview
- Safety training (personal survival techniques; first aid; personal safety and social responsibilities and security awareness)
No formal qualifications are required. You must be at least 16 years old and hold a basic level of core skills.
Fee waiver may apply
Most full-time NC/NQ/Higher (non-advanced) students, who are ordinarily resident in Scotland, or are a refugee resident in Scotland before the course starts, will have their fees paid direct to the College by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC). This is called fee waiver.
