Admission RequirementsTo be graduated from eGeological and Geophysical Engineering departments of Universities\r\nTaked minimum necessary note from the sum of the rates of GPA, ALES or equivalent exam, foreign language exam and interview exam that designated for the candidates acceptance by the Senate.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The transfer student candidates from Turkish or foreign universities are subject to the YOK Legislation "The transfer, double degree, minor degree and inter-institutional credit transfer" and to the evaluation conditions determined by İstanbul University Senate. The transfer quotas are determined and announced by Turkish Higher Education Council (YOK). The evaluation of the candidates are done by the school evaluation commmisin and approved by the management

Our mission is to provide graduate training in the field of marine geophysics to produce useful information to our country and humanity and to train competent individuals, to identify the problems and needs of our country, to develop the necessary solution proposals and methods, and to train specialists and researchers in various sections of the society.

Goals and Objectives

The aim of the program is to train highly qualified and morally qualified people who are highly qualified in scientific geophysics and have qualified scientist candidates and researchers, who have developed academic high scientific thinking, respectful to their environment, flexible and fast to develop, able to decide quickly and confidently. The objectives of the program are to be a pioneering Marine Geology and Geophysics Department working in the field of marine geology and geophysics, responding to the needs of the society and the industry, with universal values, nationally and internationally qualified teaching and research. Our other goal is to increase the work on marine science in Turkey.

Knowledge

Moving forward the knowledge was taken at the undergraduate level education in geology and geophysics, scientific thinking has developed a high academic level, the doubt, respectful environment, all the developments in open, flexible and capable of rapid decision-making and self-confident, well-behaved, virtuous, to develop highly qualified people.

The student will have knowledge of basic and general information about science.The Student gains the ability detecting and defining the problem.The student gains the ability to synthesize and analyze the problem.

The student will have basic and general information about the field, identifying and describing the problematic issues.The student is able to read, write, analyze and translate texts about Marine Geology and Geophysics.The student gains ability to critical thinking, initiative and skills to use it in a constructive way to express.
