Marine Technology with Offshore Engineering (MEng Honours)

Type
Master (ISCED 2011 level 7)
Language

English

Duration 8 semesters
Cost UK/EU students - £9250, International students - £22800

The first three years of this degree follow the same programme as our Offshore Engineering BEng Honours degree. It focuses on the design and operation of fixed and floating structures which service the offshore energy industry.

You'll gain knowledge of key engineering skills that offshore engineers apply to industry-specific problems and use to design the latest technologies for application in shallow and deep-water ocean environments.

You’ll learn from research-active professors from across the globe, bringing their cutting-edge ideas into the classroom and our specialist facilities.

After learning the fundamentals of marine technology, you'll move on to specialist offshore engineering modules such as:

  • offshore design
  • marine structures
  • offshore engineering

You'll gain the ability to design and produce fixed and floating offshore oil and gas production installations, and the crafts which service them.

A fourth year of master's-level study, comprises advanced specialist modules and develops your technical expertise. Your professional-standard skills will lead directly to Chartered Engineer status.
