The Department of Shipping Management at KMOU was opened in 1980 to foster maritime professionals required for the development of the Korea maritime industry.

The Department of Shipping Management Graduate School, which was established in 1984, provides all graduate students with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge on maritime business such as shipping, port, shipping information and maritime finance.

We also support and encourage the students both to publish research papers in well-known academic journals and to write their dissertations in the field of maritime industry with advanced research methods.

The objective of the course is to educate scholars and experts who will be engaged in maritime related academia and research institutes and business.

The curriculum consists of not only specialized subjects on maritime industry but also business administration
