Civil engineering is about design, building, and maintaining the infrastructures for our society such as roads, bridges, ports and airports.
The Department of Civil Engineering at Korea Maritime & Ocean University was, established in 1995, and is recognized nationally for excellence in the preparation of our graduate students to meet the infrastructural challenges of our society.
Currently, our department (civil engineering) includes six faculty members and laboratories in the fields of structural, geotechnical, port and harbors, and coastal engineering.
Our department offers challenging intellectual experiences designed to provide research activities in various areas of civil engineering and put a lot of effort on the development of graduate civil programs.
Our department also has several research projects funded by governmental and private entities.
This will give graduate students great opportunities to work with renowned professionals on real world problems regarding social infrastructures.
