物理海洋学科是海洋科学的基础学科,是运用物理学的观点和方法研究海洋中的力场、热盐结构、以及相关的各种机械运动的时空变化,并研究海洋中的物质交换、动量交换、能量的交换和转换的学科。

中国海洋大学物理海洋学科建于1946年,历史悠久。1987年被批准为、2001年再度被认定为国家级重点学科,1988年获准设博士后流动站,是我国首批具有硕士、博士学位授予权的学科,科研实力强,教学与研究实验条件有较大优势,编写了国内绝大部分物理海洋学专业的教材,出版了绝大部分物理海洋学方面的专著,以物理海洋教育部重点实验室和目前国内船舶性能最先进的“东方红2号”综合性海洋调查船构成了具备一定优势的研究实验条件,以“流体力学实验室”、“海洋数值模拟实验室”、“卫星海洋学实验室”和“海洋调查实验室”等为主体构成了具备一定优势的教学实验条件。

Physical oceanography is the basic subject of oceanic sciences. Its main research areas cover the ocean dynamics,temperature-salinity structure, temporal and spatial variations of relevant mechanical movement in the ocean, as well as the exchanges and transformation of oceanic substances, momentum and energy.

Founded in 1946, physical oceanography in Ocean University of China has enjoyed a long history of development. It was approved to be the State Key Discipline in 1987, which was reaffirmed in 2001. Its mobile station for post doctors was established in 1988, making it one of the first subjects to have both master’s and doctor’s degree in China. It has a strong capability and advantageous conditions for teaching, research and experiment. Most textbooks and monographs of physical oceanography in China are written by our teachers. The Key Laboratory of physical oceanography by the Ministry of Education and the most advanced comprehensive oceanic research ship in China, Dong Fang Hong 2, have provided advantageous research conditions, whereas hydro-mechanics laboratory, simulation laboratory of ocean numerical value, satellite oceanography laboratory, and oceanic research laboratory have provided advantageous teaching conditions.

   具有坚实的地球流体动力学、物理海洋学的基础理论和广泛的海洋科学和大气科学知识,熟悉有关研究领域的最新动态。能熟练掌握物理海洋学的基本实验和观测技术、计算机技术和数值模拟方法,并能用其独立从事科学研究;具有在研究中独立提出创新性的科学问题并开展研究的能力;具有解决实际问题的能力。毕业后可在高校和科研机构从事数学和研究工作,也可到海洋部门、环保、运输、国防等有关部门从事技术和管理工作。
