The search for "Sustainable Energy Systems" is to be made under a complex framework characterized by multiple time and spatial scales, that go from the global international level to the sub-national supply and demand levels, and that action should be fostered by different policy instruments based in solid knowledge in multiple fields, including: economic, social, environmental, technological, and policy.
