Marine Engineering Department (ME) started education in 2006 as part of the School of Maritime Business and Management. The Department of ME started its undergraduate program in the academic year of 2006-2007. In 2009, the name of the School of Maritime Business and Management turned into Maritime Faculty. Department of Marine Engineering master's degree program in Maritime Transportation Systems Engineering Programme was founded in the academic year 2012-2013.
Maritime Transportation Systems Engineering Master programme plays leadership role in the planning, application and management of the marine transport ability of maritime companies in global markets by integrating the fields of engineering, logistics, transportation, machinery, environmental and marine technologies engineering. The aim of this programme is to educate competent engineers in the field of innovation, R&D and technologic innovation in marine transportation.
