The course consists of theory and applied studies in marine environmental geology, hydrography and costal oceanography. The links between anthropogenic impact, geological, sedimentary, physical, chemical, geochemical, hydrographic and biological processes in the ocean, both in the water column and in the sediment is highlighted, as well as the importance of recent sediments for the marine environment, with a particular focus on the role of sediments in environmental monitoring. Also mapping methodology and technology are covered.
Prerequisites
150 credits in the main field of Earth Sciences or Marine Sciences is required. Student with an equivalent education may be given admission to the course after examination.
