The Department of Navigation Science aims to train experts in vessel and marine safety fields by teaching comprehensive maritime technology based on traditional navigation fields. The department covers professional knowledge about maritime safety technology and maritime IT areas. The department operates two majors, Maritime Safety Technology and Maritime Traffic Information. Both majors offer master’s and doctoral programs.
Major in Maritime Safety Technology: Deals with comprehensive maritime technology and maritime safety. It is an applied field which includes navigation, steering, and related systems as well as ship safety, ship and freight management, ship inspection, and maritime disasters and prevention.
