Engenharia Naval (Naval Engineering )

Doctorado (ISCED 2011 nivel 8)

Portugués, Brasil

Duración 10 semesters
Costo Free of charge

The formation of the Naval Engineer is oriented to provide a systemic view of engineering, with a diversified curricular structure, developed to act in planning, construction, maintenance and disposal of naval systems such as: conventional and special vessels, port and oceanic structures. It will also be possible for the graduate to work in interdisciplinary areas of engineering: mechanics, electrical, production, mechatronics, metallurgy, materials, transport and logistics, infrastructure, among others.

Naval Engineering has been highlighted in the Brazilian scenario in view of the current and future demands in the following sectors: from the shipbuilding of vessels for the maritime transport of gas, oil, container and various cargo; shipbuilding of pleasure vessels, safety and platform support vessels; navigation of maritime and fluvial cabotage; port operations; ocean exploration, due to the important oil exploration activity that Brazil develops in deep waters (pre-salt).

The course has a flexible structure in which the student can choose one of four tracks of specialization:

  • Shipbuilding;
  • Naval Sciences;
  • Recreational and Service Vessels;
  • Maritime Transport.

In addition to the theoretical classes, we have practical lessons on lamination and welding; development of nautical models and prototypes; general tests in static test tank; availability of modern tools for computer simulation of projects; design classes simulating the business environment; developing group work, leadership, creativity, planning - combined with a strong systemic and integrated vision of engineering projects.
