Admission to a programme of study is required:

  • Naval Architecture (850MD)
  • Naval Architecture (850ME)
Recommended previous knowledge

Marine Technology 1 & 2 (IP203607 and IP303205) and Ship Hydrodynamics (IP503711) or similar.

Resultados del aprendizaje

Knowledge:

  • The course will give the student knowledge about the trade-offs and compromises different aspects of ship design brings in the concept stage of the creation of a ship.

Skills:

  • The student will get an overall understanding on how the various design criteria for a vessel affects the overall ship design. He/she will in addition be able to do multi discipline high level analyses to document the feasibility of their own developed ship concept design.

General competence:

  • The student will be familiar with the ship concept design process and its terminology.
