The LLM/MSc Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Law degree provides an opportunity to critically assess key legal and contractual aspects including licensing, contracts, M&A, environmental and renewable energy of the global Energy and Oil and Gas sectors, both in the UK and leading international regions.
The course is designed to allow basic legal concepts to be covered in depth before building on this knowledge by moving onto specific energy, oil and gas law content.
You will develop key transferable legal skills to drive your career further and on successful completion you will be able to understand and deal with some of the main energy legal issues in the industry.
The course is suitable for those with legal qualifications or with considerable experience in Oil and Gas or Energy.
All modes of delivery will study the same breakdown of modules, but over different durations depending on if studying full-time (on-campus/online) or part-time online.
STAGES 1 AND 2
You will develop a complete understanding of the main legal principles affecting Oil and Gas industry including maritime law, oil and gas law, environmental law, health and safety and renewable energy. You will gain in depth knowledge around contractual and commercial arrangements including contracts, mergers and acquisitions and dispute resolution.
STAGE 3
You will present a written research proposal for submission. This will normally form the basis for the master's level dissertation. You will work independently but under tutorial supervision, to undertake the research and prepare the dissertation.

Prerrequisitos

Applicants will normally hold a a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in any subject discipline.
- Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5, or an equivalent.
