Técnico Superior Profissional em Climatização e Refrigeração (TeSP-CR)


The Professional Technician course in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration intends to train qualified technicians, especially designed to perform the following general functions:

  • Coordinate, supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of thermal equipment, namely refrigeration and/ or air conditioning in commercial, fishing, maritime-tourist vessels, as well as in platforms exploration and extraction of oil and gas, meeting quality criteria and the safety regulations in force in maritime-port activity.
  • Carry out the same functions on land, particularly in refrigeration systems and/ or domestic, commercial, industrial and services;
  • Maintenance of industrial facilities using diagnosis with the issuing of opinions regarding the state of equipment;
  • Supervise teams for the implementation of preventive maintenance plans and predictive;
  • Plan, execute and verify operations carried out in technological processes of manufacture, especially in machining, forming and welding operations;
  • Select the various types of pumps and fans and identify the main applications of these equipment;
  • Apply the acquired knowledge of thermal comfort, psychrometry, air conditioning, refrigeration cycles and refrigerants in facilities;
  • Select the main elements of an air conditioning and refrigeration plant and apply the installation, start-up, operation and maintenance procedures for these equipment;
  • Identify, characterize and select the constituent elements of fluid networks;
  • Apply concepts and tools of organization and management;
  • Design and implement operational modes, appropriate working methods and coordinate management activities at the level of human resources and equipment.
Learning outcome:

The CTeSP in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration intends to train qualified technicians, especially designed to perform the following general functions:

Objective:

The technician course in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (TeSP-CR) aims to prepare a highly qualified professional technician in the technical areas associated with their designation. Refrigeration alone is inseparable from the food chain, industrial manufacturing and processing facilities, whether in the whole distribution and sales of the most varied products. Refrigeration techniques are also present in most air-conditioning installations, from the smallest to the large buildings such as hospitals and shopping centers, among others. On the other hand, is an activity of undeniable importance, especially that which is related to the human comfort. The diploma holder with the TeSP-CR course is also be able to act on the supervision of Work, Maintenance and Operation/ Operation of refrigeration and HVAC installations in:

  • Ships of commerce, fishing, river traffic and maritime-tourist vessels;
  • Port terminals, liquefied gas (LNG) loading and unloading terminals and storage warehouses for fishery products;
  • Marinas and recreational ports;
  • Refrigerated warehouses in port terminals, refrigerated containers;
  • Aquatic infrastructures (fish production in aquaculture, aquariums, waterways, etc…);
  • Shipbuilding and ship repair yards.

TeSP-CR graduates are also prepared to continue their studies in higher education, namely ENIDH's degree courses in Engineering, where may obtain credits within the scientific areas of the courses.

The Higher Education Nautical School Infante D. Henrique (ENIDH) is a polytechnic public higher education institution with statutory, scientific, pedagogical, administrative, financial, patrimonial and disciplinary autonomy. ENIDH is the only Portuguese national school dedicated to the formation of Officers of the Merchant Navy and senior managers of the Maritime-Port sector in the areas of Intermodality, Management and Logistics. It is the responsibility of the School to provide a solid cultural, scientific and technical training, to develop the capacity for innovation and critical analysis and to provide scientific knowledge in a theoretical and practical nature directed to the performance of activities characteristic of the Maritime-Port sector.

Application


Prerequisites:

a) Holders of a course of secondary education or legally equivalent qualification;

b) Those which have been approved in the particularly appropriate tests to assess the capacity for higher education attendance of those over 23 years old, for the course, under the terms of Decree-Law no. 64/2006, of 21 March.

c) Students who, having obtained approval in all disciplines of the 10th and 11th years of a secondary education course, or a legally equivalent qualification, and not having completed secondary education, are considered eligible through 1 capacity to be carried out by ENIDH.

d) Holders of a diploma of technological specialization, of a diploma of technician professional or higher education degree who wish professional re-qualification.


Application Procedure:

The application must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • Application form duly completed;
  • Copy of citizen card / identity card and taxpayer card;
  • Certificate of academic qualification discriminated;
  • Certificate proving the approval of the specially appropriate tests to assess the ability to attend higher education of those over 23 years of age, when applicable.
