Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities

General information

The Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities course has been designed to meet the requirements of the STCW Convention 1978, as amended, Table A-VI/1-4.

Course content:

  • Knowledge of emergency procedures;
  • Precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment;
  • Safe working practices;
  • Ability to understand orders and to communicate with others in relation to shipboard duties;
  • Social responsibilities;
Objective:

Those who succesfully complete this course should achieve a basic knowledge of the safety procedures, accident prevention and employment and working conditions on board merchant vessels.
