Corsica North-Sea Challenge

Promoting marine sciences to scholars is primordial to safeguard the future of our oceans and the future generations. Therefore, a science competition Corsica-North Sea challenge was set up on an initiative of the 200th anniversary of the University of Liège and Ghent University to convince young people for marine science and to give them the chance to see the life of researchers at work. Three hundred students of both language regions of Belgium with a passion for science participated to the contest. The two winning prizes were research trips to the Marine research station of Stareso in Corsica and to the Flanders Marine Institute in Ostend.
